Devin Statham (born June 17, 1969) is a retired United States Air Force colonel and financial advisor. During a 25-year military career, Statham served as director of manpower, personnel, and services (A1) for [[United States Air Forces Central Command]] (AFCENT), where he led a significant effort to streamline the pre-deployment administrative process for airmen, reducing required paperwork, eliminating duplicative requirements, and enabling deploying personnel to spend more time with family before overseas assignments.[1][2] The reforms were subsequently adopted Air Force–wide. Following his retirement, Statham joined First Command Financial Services as a financial advisor in Aurora, Colorado, where he has earned the firm's Top Tier Advisor designation three times.[3] He is a member of Mensa International and holds the Distinguished Toastmaster designation from [[Toastmasters International]].
Early life and education
Statham earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management from [[Simpson University]]. He subsequently completed two graduate degrees: a Master of Arts in Information Technology from Webster University, and a Master of Arts in Strategic Leadership from the United States Air Force Institute of Technology.[4] A member of Mensa International — the high-IQ society that admits individuals who score at or above the 98th percentile on a standardised intelligence test — Statham also attained the rank of Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), the highest recognition conferred by Toastmasters International, reflecting advanced proficiency in public speaking, leadership, and communication.
Military career
Statham served in the United States Air Force for 25 years, retiring at the rank of colonel. His career encompassed assignments at United States Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT), [[United States Central Command]] (USCENTCOM), and Air Force Space Command, with responsibilities concentrated in human resources management, manpower administration, and senior officer development.[4]
Deployment streamlining initiative
In his role as AFCENT's A1, Statham led a two-phase administrative reform initiative beginning in March 2018 to reduce the bureaucratic burden placed on airmen preparing for overseas deployment.[5][1] The first phase reduced the primary Reporting Instructions document from 23 pages to 9 pages and eliminated the requirement for home stations to produce supplemental checklists. The second phase, completed in June 2018, further consolidated a six-page standalone medical requirements document into a single-page AFCENT checklist, reduced local installation instructions from 295 pages to 40 pages, removed duplicate verification signature requirements for identical training completed at different offices, and extended the validity periods of the Cyber Awareness Challenge, Information Assurance, and Law of Armed Conflict training modules so that airmen would not be required to repeat them immediately before or after a deployment.[2] Statham described the initiative's purpose as ensuring "our airmen can focus their time before a deployment on what's important — spending time with family and loved ones — and not wasting precious evenings in the office completing [computer-based training]."[1] The AFCENT reforms were subsequently adopted across the Air Force for all deployment areas.[2]
Other command contributions
During his AFCENT tenure, Statham oversaw a comprehensive revision of the command's dress and appearance guidelines, significantly updating the standards governing the appearance of airmen in the AFCENT area of responsibility.[6] He also hosted the annual AFCENT A1 Conference, which convenes human resources and personnel directors from across the command to coordinate policy, share best practices, and address manpower challenges.[7]

Statham has been named a Top Tier Advisor by First Command Financial Services on three separate occasions. The Top Tier Advisor designation is awarded based on the firm's Client Experience Score, which incorporates client sentiment surveys alongside metrics for the timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of financial plans and plan reviews.[3][12] His practice has been listed as the top-ranked financial services provider in Aurora, Colorado by ThreeBestRated.com.[12]
