Devon Richards[edit]

Devon Richards is a Canadian writer of both prose and screenplays.Though new to the world of publishing, author Devon Richards has been writing for a good 30 years. He submitted 2 spec episodes to “Star Trek: The Next Generation” through their pre-production office, and has been writing scripts ever since. Optioned multiple times in Hollywood and by Canadian production companies, Devon Richards has won high-placing laurels in multiple script competitions.[1], and had short films produced across Canada.

His IMDB accredits him with two short scripts - "Infiltrator"[2], which was an entrant in the 2019 48-hour film festival, and "Wolves", which is based loosely on his script "Wolves at the Door".[3] His screenplay “VESSELS” is in development, and he is also working on his own directorial debut project.

Along with his writing, he is credited with over a hundred TV and Film appearances[4], mostly in the capacity of a Background Performer, as well as stunt work and other categories. He appeared regularly on "Rookie Blue", "Flashpoint", "Nikita"[5] and a multitude of other Canadian-shot series and films.[6]

When not writing scripts or prose, Mr Richards is a bass player and guitarist, a prolific song writer, and is working on an album-length music project.

In November of 2022, Devon Richards published his first full-length novel, the epic fantasy "Where All Roads Lead"[7]. The epic/cozy fantasy hybrid was well-received, with one enthusiastic reviewer calling it, "The perfect blend of Lord of the Rings and Ted Lasso."[8]

A prequel story, "Mage's Dark Fate"[9], which takes place seven years before the events in the novel, was published shortly before the release of "Where All Roads Lead" and serves to fill in some details not fleshed out in the book. Further books in that world are being written.

While his first novel, “Where All Roads Lead”[10], is an epic fantasy that plays with many of the tropes of the genre, he is also working on a book close to his formative 80’s underground years - an alternative culture- based noir series, "The Damon Black Mysteries", the first published stories in the series being, "Two Shots:The Damon Black Mysteries"[11] - A collection of two short stories from the time when The Damon Black Mysteries were originally published in a punk rock scene zine[12]. The debut novel featuring the character, "Ever Lurking in Darkness", is nearing completion.

Other published works include the shocking coming-of-age novella, "Ripples"[13], and the short horror story, "Minotaur"[14]

An expert chef, he resides in Toronto, Canada
