Career
2006-2011: Career beginnings
Dez Cleo started out in a Pop Rock studio project with P!nk and Blink 182’s producer, Dave Carlock. During early 2006, she quickly found a passion for hard-hitting, edgy music that led to her signing a deal with Hollywood Records and cut single, “LMFAO” that later became the theme song for the movie “Fright Night 2”. During the end of 2008, she became the lead singer of punk rock band, “By All Means Necessary”, and toured steadily through 2009, 2010, & 2011 where she headlined shows, events, and festivals. “BAMN” signed with Indie Label “Dirtbag Music Records” out of San Diego, CA. Dez also went on to win Miss Congeniality at the Miss California, USA 2011 pageant.[2]
2012-2017: The meat & potatoes
From 2012 to 2017: In late 2012 she signed a 5 album deal with Warner Music Group and cut song “Reach Down”, written by Chad Kroeger of Nickelback. Guns N’ Roses own Bumblefoot and Slash featured musically on the track. In 2014, she started writing with various rappers and cut the single “Hello Kittie” with Seth Binzer, aka Shifty Shellshock of “Crazytown”. In 2015, she worked alongside producers Rayna Zemel and Che Pope (of “G.O.O.D Music”) writing songs for the EDM and underground hip hop world.
2020-present: Bury Me Standing
In June of 2020, she released a Pop Rock[3] "EP" titled, "Bury Me Standing"[4] with Musician/Producer Mike Krompass. Dez is now in collaboration with 90’s dance music icon, CeCe Penniston, to cover her long time hit, “Finally”. She is also recording vocals for movie trailers, commercials, and online adds for “Media Horse” music publishing company.
