The Dhirubhai Ambani Square[1] is located at the Jio World Centre[2], in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. Built as a public square. The Square's main attraction is the Fountain of Joy[3] that is a free-for-all water fountain choreographed using popular music, lights, fire and mist.
The Dhirubhai Ambani Square is a part of the Jio World Centre, spread over 18.5 acres in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex. Jio World Centre is a commerce and cultural destination, and a first-of-its-kind in India. It includes a retail precinct, a selection of cafés and fine dining restaurants, serviced apartments and offices, and India's largest convention centre, the Jio World Convention Centre.
Design[edit]
The Fountain of Joy is the largest circular musical fountain in India, designed by WETDesign[4], a water feature design firm based in Los Angeles, California. It is shaped like a lotus in full bloom and measures 34 metres in diameter. It has 664 water nozzles ; 360 canopy shooters that synchronise with music; and 16 high-rise grand shooters that shoot water 45 ft up in the sky. The fountain's specially designed swivel jets control the travel distance of the water. These also form a variety of designs as they are shot through the fountain. The fountain also has 8 gas fire shooters, which eject fire in various forms and shapes, choreographed to the music tracks. 200 mist-emitters are distributed across the fountain, consisting of water and air under pressure to create white mist in various shapes.
Notable events[edit]
In March 2019, the family of Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani inaugurated the Fountain of Joy[5] where they invited nearly 2000 underprivileged children[6] from various NGOs supported by Reliance Foundation[7] to experience the enthralling Musical Fountain show. These children have been beneficiaries of Nita Ambani’s Reliance Foundation[8] and are supported through its social development initiatives[9], including Education for All, Sports for All, and Project Drishti, amongst others.
Sustainability[edit]
The water being used by the fountain is 100% recyclable.[clarification needed]
