Dhruba Gautam (1971 –) can be a lead-in to the Prof. Dr. Dhruba Kumar Gautam. Gautam is a Nepalese author most notable for his work as a Professor at Tribhuvan University[1] and as a Planning Directorate[2] in Central Department of Management at the same University. He has a dual degree in MBA and MPA. He has also taken lead role in numerous research at different Universities at different countries. He has received most commended research paper award of 2015 from Emerald, and best case award from SAGE (2015).[3]
Academic Achievements
Dhruba did Ph.D. in Strategic Management, gained a dual degree in MBA, MPA, and Diploma in Changing Perspectives on culture from Stockholm University, Sweden. He served to be an Adjunct Professor of the Asian Institute of Technology Thailand, Board of case study center of Birala Institute of Management and Technology (BIMTECH) Delhi, Visiting Professor at Dong-A University, South Korea, and research associates at Texas Christian University, Neeley School of Business, Texas, USA. He has delivered public speeches at world renounced Universities: Rutgers Business School (New York), Neeley School of Business, TCU (Texas), Youngstown State University (Ohio), Jilin University (China), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Mongolian National University and others. He has visited leading universities of Europe, America, and Asia for academic activities, research, and presentation.
Served for Nepal Government
Dr. Gautam also served as a member of the Human Resource Projection team- 2019 formed by the Cabinet of Government of Nepal and submitted the projection and strategy outcome of human resources of the country to the Prime Minister of Nepal[4]. He worked as a team member of GEFONT and visited on invitation of China University of Labor Relations for labor-related curriculum designing at the postgraduate level. He worked as an expert member to design strategic human resource policies and programs for the Attorney General of Nepal. Professor Gautam did research for the National Planning Commission of Nepal[5] to forecast the human resources of Teachers and Doctors with policy implications. As an expert, he served being member on the economic policy advisory committee, expert member of the revenue advisory committee, and budget expert at the Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal, and expert member for the human resource development plan for Nepal Rastra Bank.
Personal Achievements
Dhruba Kumar Gautam is associated with the Academy of International Business (AIB)[6], Academy of Management (AoM)[7], Indian Society of Labour Economics (ISLE), International Federation of Scholarly Association of Management (IFSAM)[8], International Federation of East Asian Management Associations (IFEAMA)[9] and International Human Resource Management (IHRM) and is working being as a national representative on behalf of CRANET (Cranfield University Network, UK) and elected secretary of IFEMA. He has actively participated and presented research in International conferences including ILO, APROS, ISLE, IAM, ICBC, ICMC, IFSAM, AIB, IHRM, APAM, JAM, IFEMA, and many others. The findings of his research have been published International reputed Journals: Organization Science, Employee Relations, International Journal of Law and Management,[10][11][12] International Journal of Organizational Analysis,[13] Journal of Research in Innovative Teaching and Learning[14], Asia Pacific Journal of Business[15][16][17][18] South Asian Journal of Global Business Research[19][20], and others. He is the author of few textbooks and edited volumes from Nepal and abroad. He served as a Managing Editor of International Journal of Nepalese Academy of Management[21], editorial board member of an International Journal – Asian Journal of Business and Management Science[20]; and Advisory Editorial Board Member SIU Journal of Management.
Academic Leadership
He is currently working as the Director of the planning Directorate at TU. He is a member of the management cluster committee at University Grants Commission (UGC), a member secretary of the Research Committee at Faculty of Management, research coordinator at MPHIL program, Board member of MBA and MPhil program of TU. He has already served being an Assistant Dean, and member secretary of Ph. D. committee of the Faculty of Management, TU. He coordinated international conferences on emerging themes for the Nepalese Academy of Management[21] and successfully hosted 1st, 2nd 3rd, and 4th International Conferences[22] at Kathmandu in which participants from more than 30 nations 200+ Professors in each conference attended and shared their findings. First time in Nepal he organized the Doctoral Consortium and Faculty Development Program in partnership with the Society for Academy of Management Study (SAMS)-the UK at Kathmandu. He joins Nepal as a partner for CRANET network and Academy of Global Business Advancement (AGBA)[23] to involve international academic collaboration. He is a member secretary of the International Federation of East Asian Management Associations (IFEAMA)[9], an executive Member of AIB South Asia Chapter (AIB_SAC)[6], and has networked with many international academic bodies.
