Dhruv Kapoor is a Member Of Telephone Advisory Committee (TAC), Ministry Of Communication, Government of India. He is also a Social activist and the Chairman of the International Human Rights and the Crime Control Council of India (Delhi State), an NGO in New Delhi. He has been appointed as a Member of the Telephone Advisory Committee in the Ministry of Communications, Government of India, for two years w.e.f. April 22, 2022.

Telephone Advisory Committee ( TAC)  is a high-level Indian Government body  comprising of Members of Parliament (MPs) and prominent figures who are directly appointed by the Ministry of Communications, Government of India to handle telecommunications concerns in India.

Dhruv Kapoor stated, "It is an honour for me to join the Government of India's telecommunications department. Through my active participation, I will be working towards several telecommunications challenges and upliftment initiatives  for the telecommunication department, particularly those in the interior regions, so that it will benefit the citizens of the country. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, lockdown was imposed due to which schools were closed and students were studying online. Especially students from interior regions and villages faced problems of internet connectivity. As a member of TAC my first priority would be to make the department of Telecommunications aware of providing access and proper connectivity in interior regions and villages".

Early life and Education

Dhruv Kapoor graduated from University of Delhi, with an honors degree in Political Science. Dhruv Kapoor was elected as the Student's Union President - University Of Delhi (Dyal Singh College). After he graduated from the college, he joined the BJP and became an active member of the Party. He has been a diligent social worker, working to provide a better life for the people.

Achievements

During his early college days, he was nominated as a President of the National Service Scheme (NSS), an initiative by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India.

His team planted more than 150 trees at the University of Delhi campus. He initiated an Anti Smoking Campaign in Delhi University Campus. He had always been working for the college betterment, improving infrastructure, providing basic necessities like installing water coolers, and air conditioners in the library. He set up an Anti-harassment society for Women empowerment. He also organized many cultural programmes in the College Campus.

Dhruv Kapoor was appointed as a Member of the Telephone Advisory Committee in the Ministry of Communications, Government of India on April 22, 2022. Dhruv Kapoor will be providing his services for a span of two years, commencing from April 22, 2022 to January 13, 2024. He will serve as a Member of the Advisory Committee.

The selections and appointments at the Telephone Advisory Committee (TAC) are held directly by the Government of India, Department of Telecommunications to perform specific tasks on issues related to Telecommunication concerns in India. Here, the MPs and other reputable personalities of the country are appointed at key positions.

Social Activities

He was the President of the Yuva Morcha from Kasturba Nagar ward, New Delhi. Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, he helped in improving the drainage pipeline system of the colony. He built two public bathrooms in his community and organized many events like cricket tournaments, Dussehra celebration, Holi Utsav, kirtans, etc.

After being appointed as Chairman of the International Human rights and Crime control Council of India, Delhi State (NGO). He worked effortlessly during the Covid Lockdown and helped many people surrounding Delhi by providing them basic necessities to survive during the tough times.

Dhruv Kapoor brought awareness within the people during the pandemic about the condition of lockdown and how to prevent being infected by Corona, when the government declared it as a pandemic. During the pandemic, Schools were shut down and online education was adopted. Many people were battling issues like poor internet connections in the remote areas, rural and interior parts of the country. Dhruv worked effortlessly to bring these issues to the forefront, got them noticed by the government and helped to get a resolution on the same.

After having been appointed as a Member in the Telephone Advisory Committee (TAC), he stated that “It is an honor for me to be a part of the Government of India's telecommunications department.
