Dhruv Mohindra

Dhruv Mohindra (born September 19, 1985) is an Indian computer security specialist and author. He has co-authored books on secure coding in Java and code reliability. His books have been translated to Japanese, Korean, and Chinese languages.

Education

Dhruv earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from University of Pune in May 2007. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master of Science degree in May 2009, specializing in Information Security Policy and Management.

Career

Dhruv worked for Carnegie Mellon University as a research assistant where he made significant contributions to research on predicting SSNs from public data and privacy ramifications of using social media.[1][2]. Later, he pioneered the development of the first authoritative secure coding standard for Java in Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) CERT Coordination Center at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[3][4]

Dhruv also led the security consulting practice at Persistent Systems till November 2017. He currently leads global product security at BMC Software. Dhruv is an advisory board member at the Computer Science Department of Maharashtra Institute of Technology - World Peace University, Pune, and a co-leader of the OWASP Pune Chapter.[5]
