Dhruv Mohite is an Indian racing driver, currently a factory driver for Volkswagen Motorsport. He is a 3 time National Champion and the first ever Maharashtrian and youngest Indian to win the ITC (Indian Touring Car Championship) in 2019.
Early life:[edit]
Dhruv Mohite was born in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh on the 11th day of June 1998. He was the first born of Shivaji and Monika Mohite settled in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Grandson of R.M. Mohite who sphere headed the Mohite Group in varied branches like dam construction, infrastructure, textiles, agriculture, mining and hydro power. Dhruv practically grew up surrounded with grease and engine oils at the Mohite’s workshop of the construction division.
Nicknamed child prodigy of the Mohite’s at the tender age of 5 when he began surprising the family with his wheels know-how. His driving skills caught father Shivaji's attention and he gifted him with a ATV at the age of 7. Shivaji Mohite himself was a National Motocross Champion in late 1990s. He guided Dhruv into Go-Karting as it would strengthen his foundation from the onset. His debut race was in the year 2006 at the age of 8.
