Dibu: La película
Dibu: La Película is an Argentinian animated comedy directed by Carlos Olivieri and Alejandro Stoessel. It was released on July 10th, 1997. This is the first film based on the successful series “Mi familia es un dibujo”. The characters Dibu and Buji were created by Rodolfo Mutuverría.
Synopsis[edit]
Dibu is the son of a couple, Marce and Pepe. He is the fourth son of this marriage, but he is a cartoon, different from the other children: Victor, Caro and Leo, who are real people. They live with their grandfather. Dibu is a lovely, nice and lively boy who is crazy about car racings. When the mother is absent, the grandfather and the father help Dibu with his whim of participating in a car racing. For obvious reasons, Dibu is not allowed to appear in public. So, with his grandfather and father’s complicity, the adventure begins.[1]
Main characters[edit]
- Dibu: He is the fourth child of the couple. He is seven years old and he is a cartoon. He is cute and loves his family. He likes animals, computers and videogames. The worst punishment for him is to be left out of the computer for not doing his homework.
- Marcela Medina: She is the mother of the family. When she was pregnant, she had a craving for watching cartoons. Surprisingly, when the son, Dibu, was born, he was actually a cartoon.[2]
- José “Pepe” Medina: He is the father of Dibu and second husband of Marcela. He also loves car racing, as well as his son Dibu.
- Victor Marzoa: He is the older brother of Dibu. He is considered really good-looking for the girls of his age.
- Caro Marzoa: She is the sister of Dibu. She accompanies her mother to San Martín de los Andes, where she meets a boy. She had a short love affair with him.
- Leo Marzoa: He is the younger brother of Dibu. He has to defend himself from the attacks of another boy.
- Atilio: He is Dibu’s grandfather. He is very clever. He helps Dibu with his wish of participating in a car race.
- Buji: She is also a cartoon. She is a one-year-old baby who is interested in fashion and make up. She is Dibu’s partner.
