Dichtung-Digital was an international bilingual (German and English) journal of art and culture in digital media founded by media theorist Roberto Simanowski in 1999[1][2], and edited by him and guest-editors until 2014.[3] In 2022 the journal moved to the media/rep-repositorium of Universität Marburg and can be accessed there [4]

The journal aimed to foster the interdisciplinary discussion of art and culture in digital media from the perspectives of literary, cultural and media studies, fine art, and sociology with both a theoretical and empirical engagement. Topics covered ranged from the poetics of multi-linear and multi-media text, interactive installations or videogames, to the politics of culture and communication in digital, mobile, and social media as well as theoretical and practical issues of media literacy. These topics were covered in three sections: reviews, interviews and theory.

The journal appeared in 44 editions each containing around 10 contributions. Among the more than 100 authors from 20 countries were pioneers and theoreticians of digital literature and art, scholars of cultural and media studies, scholars of media literacy, as well as cultural managers.
