Diego Lander (born October 1, 1983) is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ), a BJJ competitor, instructor and an undefeated professional mixed martial artist (MMA) fighter.
Background[edit]
Lander was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and was seventeen when he started practising Jiu-Jitsu at the Infight Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Rio de Janeiro. From his Blue Belt until he received his Black Belt in 2012, Lander has trained under professor David Vieira.
In 2007, Lander came to the United States to compete at the BJJ Pan American Championship and also to become a professional MMA fighter. [1]
In 2012 Lander became a Police Officer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where because of his skills he was chosen to be the police academy martial arts instructor.
Mixed Martial Arts Career[edit]
Lander became a professional MMA fighter in 2007, with 3 successful MMA fights in the United States for the WFC (World Fighting Championship). On his last fight in the WFC, Lander won the Lightweight Belt. Lander went back to Brazil to continue his BJJ and MMA training and pursue his dream of becoming a police officer. [2]
