Digital tabletop game

A digital tabletop game is a digitized clone of a traditional tabletop game, or a game that could feasibly be played as a tabletop game. A digital tabletop game has identical or nearly identical rules as the tabletop game it is based on. Some digital tabletop games play as video games, with all rules fully programmed. Others, usually referred to as virtual tabletop games, simply provide an interface and virtual parts. Therefore, participants in a virtual tabletop game must know the rules of the tabletop game in order to play it.
