Ran Arachchige Dilum Jude Sandamal Fernando (born 31 August 2000, Sinhala: දිලුම් සදමාල් ප්රනාන්දු) is a Sri Lankan musical artist, music composer, music producer, journalist, software engineer, web developer, digital media/social media consultant & analyst, and social media strategist.[1] He started his career in 2019 and became a popular figure in social media.[2] During the preceding years, Dilum Sandamal Fernando became a musical artist and a personal brand in Sri Lanka.
Personal life
He was born on 31 August 2000 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, as the first child in a family with one younger brother, Bimsara. Dilum completed his education at Buonavista College Galle and studied A/L in the maths stream. After that, he moved to Galle with his family in 2004.
Career
At the age of 19, he started to work as a CEO personal assistant at Equest Institute of Higher Education. In 2020, he qualified as a Software Engineer. In the meantime, he developed an interest in becoming a Music Composer as well.
In June 2021, his maiden song titled "LIGHT Wall", which he recorded with new recording studio equipment as a test, was uploaded to Spotify. The song gained around 10,000 listeners on Spotify. This influenced Dilum to start a musical artist career in 2021 with the same title, "Dilum Sandamal Fernando". He became a full-time content creator. Later, he made several songs that marked turning points in Sri Lankan Spotify. Through the songs, he also managed to convey a message to Sri Lankan youth regarding the useful usage of social media and its negative consequences.
