Dinesh Chandwani (born Feburary 14, 1989) is the founder of the Walnut School of Ideas, a professional skydiver, author of "Emeg - A Face Off with Fear" and a motivational speaker.

Career[edit]

Dinesh Chandwani was born Feburary 14, 1989 in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, son of father Dr. Gopichand Narayandas Chandwani and Shashi Kanta Chandwani. Dinesh Chandwani completed high school with a minor in science. He graduated from G.H Raisoni College of Engineering with a B.A. in Engineering and decided to study abroad in pursuit of a higher education.

While working on his M.A. at the Queensland University of Technology in Australia, he discovered the thrill of extreme sports in the form of skydiving and surfing. Despite a successful and apparently satisfying job as HR manager he quit to return to Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, the purposes of which he said was to "make people realize that there are not just two option after pursuing Science, there are a lot more."

Together with his cousin Nikhil Chandwani he began work on The Walnut School of Ideas as a way of encouraging Indian students to follow their passions. Around this time, he also won 2nd prize in 'SEED Maha IT Idol 2014,' a competition in computer knowledge and programing.[1] Still craving adventure Chandwani decided to publish his first book at the age of 29, "Emeg - A Face Off with Fear" as a way of reliving the adventure, as well as recapture the thrill of trying something new.[2] [3]

Plans for the Future[edit]

For now Chandwani says, he plans to focus on education. Currently pushing for the need for innovation in the Indian education system, he featured in TedTalk in October 12, 2017, and February 25, 2017. He is also scheduled to appear on Tedtalk on March 10th, 2018 and again on April 29th, 2018.[4]
