Dinesh Mendhe is a computer and information research scientist at the Rutgers University Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research, where he leads software and artificial intelligence development for research applications.[1] He is the founder of The AI Lab Intelligence Unobscured, Inc., a Delaware company that publishes the Trust Identity Protocol, an open standard for verified human identity and content provenance.[2]

Research

At Rutgers, Mendhe has developed software platforms for population health and aging research. In 2020, he was the lead author of research in Innovation in Aging describing a survey data collection platform designed to improve accuracy and reduce selection bias in studies conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic.[3]

In 2024, he was a co-author of a study in Scientific Reports that used machine learning techniques to identify biomarkers and predict cardiovascular disease for precision medicine applications.[4] The research team's disease prediction software was reported by science news outlets.[5][6]

He has also published research on artificial intelligence approaches for personalized medicine and healthcare analytics.[7] He serves on the editorial board of the Premier Journal of Genetics.[8]

Trust Identity Protocol

In 2026, The AI Lab published the Trust Identity Protocol (TIP), which the company describes as an open, post-quantum standard intended to let readers verify whether online content was produced by a human or by an artificial intelligence system.[9]
