Dinesh Nair is a former Indian football player and currently the founder-director of the Association of Indian Football Coaches (AIFC).[1] [2] an establishment that works towards development and welfare of coaches in India.

He is also the Head of Grassroots & Youth development for Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League.

Nair has been leading grassroots development at Mumbai City FC since the inception of Indian Super League in 2014. Responsibility of setting up the Youth teams & Youth development were added later to his portfolio.

Administrative career[edit]


In 2017, Dinesh Nair along with four prominent personalities of Indian Football (I.M Vijayan, Derrick Pereira, Sanjoy Sen and Thangboi Singto) formulated the Association of Indian Football Coaches with the objective of uplifting coaching standards & developing a better ecosystem for football in India. The AIFC is a recognized body by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).


In 2019, All India Football Federation appointed Dinesh as the head consultant to create a roadmap for promoting futsal & beach soccer in India.[3]
