History
In 2015, the idea for a locally produced sauce brand came to the minds of Sammer Sultan and Syed Zeeshan Haider. The market was inundated with foreign brands, and the locally produced sauces were watered-down versions of the original sauces. Multinationals in this category were only focused on ketchup and chili garlic. There was an obvious gap in the market. R&D started in 2015 along with sourcing of raw materials and a bare-bones [3] setup [4]. To understand the category and have access to a platform that allowed for real-time food testing, Wingitt was launched. Wingitt is a chicken wing-based retail outlet which centers around [5] a multitude of sauces. [6]Food R&D and investment into a larger production facility happened side by side. In 2017, Dipitt was launched first as a B2B product, offering the sauces manufactured for Wingitt to other restaurants that wanted to purchase from ITT Foods.
Once the gears were in motion, Dipitt was launched in retail in 2018. First in Karachi, then expanding into Lahore and Islamabad. Now present in all major cities of Pakistan [7]. Dipitt is also present in other countries outside of Pakistan, including Australia, Japan, Nigeria, Poland, Canada, United States, Germany, South Africa, New Zealand, and Fiji.
