Kayden Frost, known mainly as Direct Determine FM, is an Australian musician who specializes in Experimental, Alternative, Industrial and Abstract hip-hop. Her main inspirations are Tyler The Creator, Danny Brown, El-P, Earl Sweatshirt, Mac Miller, The Alchemist, Cage, Slug, Eyedea, Black Thought, Wiki, Marlon Craft, Run The Jewels, Aesop Rock, Method Man, Eazy-E, Nas, MF DOOM, The Notorious B.I.G and many other artists. She has collaborated with artists such as Greg Nice, Huey Evergreen, Aidanstotes, GREENZ, GOOOSE, Jandel Brown and many more. She is mainly known for her in development 4 part mixtape series Caramel Cake, the fourth and final being in development, with confirmed collaborations with 15drtt, SVNTEEN, Camo!, Fony Wallace, Jandel Brown, Slate, sam the vibe, Madlib, JF, MED, Huey Evergreen, K-The-I???, Pah Parkaway, MC Javelyne, majinnox!, Moe Bodies, David Arcade, Lamont Blaze, MMBOI, vitalfeels, Average Bleach Drinker, LD FOX, LeonAdam DaJinji, Squadda B, Zoowe, Skyzoo, Alex Ultra, Koka, Blockhead, DMSK, VALTORR, Zion Fulton and TAYDAFOE!, this tape will be 20 tracks.
Early Life
Not much is known about her early life, but she was born to a Half British Mother and a Father of Tasmanian Aboriginal descent. She lived in Townsville, Queensland until she turned 5, where she and her family moved to Tasmania after her parents divorce and the birth of her younger sister. In grade 3 she suffered immense bullying where she would be called slurs and beaten by older boys, which impacted her mental health so much she attempted suicide many times, one incident involved over a hundred kids working together to destroy a garden she had built at school, and beat her, this incident later involved police interference, an investigation and the decision that she would move schools. She is the niece of the late Greg Millhouse, who committed suicide before she was born, which would be a main lyrical theme for Kayden.
Career
In November of 2024, Kayden, under the name Genhi, posted a Reddit post, asking for musicians to join her group Crackhead's Toilet Bowl, which would later dissolve in February of 2025.
In March of 2025 she adopted the name Direct Determine FM, which she would release her debut album Gutterballs, an experimental r&b record with 10 tracks.
She would start Riot Civ! around this time.
On The 31st of May she released her mixtape Franklin Dowey, a completely freestyled mixtape with no features.
On the 29th of September she released her second album THE LIFE OF A COWBOY, which was 20 tracks, which saw a major improvement in her lyricism and production, with many collaborators including SVNTEEN, KXLLDIRTY, Giles, Relaclas and tons more.
On the 10th of October she released Gutterballs 2, with 10 tracks, with features from Jasper O'Meara, Lith-iam (formerly known as, and credited as Poopdog), Separations (Formerly known as, and credited as Milkmannn), JDTheRipper and KXLLDIRTY.
On October 27th, her birthday, she released Planetarium, which has little to no information behind it other than the fact it does exist.
Sometime in October 2025 her bandlab account was suspended, which saw all of her music becoming lost media, other than the select few releases on streaming services and some archived songs.
On the 13th of December she released her mixtape Off The Wall on her new account, a 13 track mixtape.
After Off The Wall, sometime in December a beef between her and an artist named Prynce Geno arose, which became a main part of her discography and leaving the beef in April of 2026,
On the 6th of February she released Off The Wall 2, a massive 30 track project, where every track was a single, it included freestyles on YouTube beats, several collaborations, disstracks and massive improvements shown compared to her earlier releases.
On the 2nd of March she released Worldstar Presents, a collaborative EP under the duo name Worldstar, consisting of Herself, Riley Beats and Fony Wallace (on production), it was 6 tracks.
On the 1 year anniversary of Gutterballs she released her 4th studio album titled "album !" which was 20 tracks and included notable collaborations with SVNTEEN, CRZDVR, Fony Wallace, David Arcade, KingMade Aidyn, Relaclas and many more.
In April of 2026 she released 2 mixtapes, the first being SKELETON, a 11 track instrumental mixtape showing off sample chopping and MIDI abilities, and Caramel Cake, another 11 track tape that expanded her sound and improved massively on her rapping and lyrical abilities, and included collaborations from D33P, Lith-iam, EZ4K, Jandel Brown, X-Manzzz, MMBOI and Prodbycleatz, among others.
On the 28th of June she released her most recent and 5th studio album, HITMAN, another 11 track project including features from .wav, Casey Hub, My Grandpa Emi, EZ4K and majinnox!, with production from Average Bleach Drinker, DJ DarkHorse, Cultxre, emiseye, Slate, Fony Wallace and more.
On the 1st of July she released 2 EPs, LAKEVIEW and Home Run, a combined 13 tracks, including features from Greg Nice, X-Manzzz, Sugarhill C-Dot Osama, Aidanstotes, GREENZ, zee3x, KILLWATT, Dyn^sty, Nikordy, LD FOX and TAYDAFOE!, with production from D33P, GOOOSE, Direct (under both the Direct Determine FM and DJ Charisma aliases), Fony Wallace and kaonashi.
On the 23rd of July she released Caramel Cake 2, a 17 track, multi-genre project with collaborations with Fony Wallace, RiftySwifty, Webbington, TACF, nick, Huey Evergreen, Nikordy, Zion Fulton and many more. On its release, Direct reached over 100 monthly listeners on Spotify, her highest milestone. A few weeks after the initial release of Caramel Cake 2, the track Dead was rewritten and rerecorded, following a conversation with the track's producer, Huey Evergreen.
On the 1st of September, she released Caramel Cake 3, which was 10 tracks, and currently noted as her best and most lyrical project yet. With the return of collaborators MC Javelyne, Huey Evergreen (credited as DJ Maouth for production on track 7 "Tetsuo The Iron Man"), X-Manzzz, EZ4K, Zion Fulton, Fony Wallace and others, with other appearances from majinnox!, KILLWATT / MMBOI, RAINI DAZE, KHATSHA, zee3x, Pah Parkaway and EYE.
