Founders[edit]

Discovery Point was founded by Cliff and Diane Clark, a husband-and-wife team who combined their backgrounds of business (Cliff) and education (Diane) to create a franchise model offers year-round child care for children of age 6 weeks to 12 years old.

Diane Clark passed away on October 9, 2012. Cliff Clark continues in his role of President and CEO at Discovery Point.

Social Responsibility[edit]

Discovery Point’s commitment to children reaches beyond their childcare centers. Discovery Point franchisees are encouraged to make an impact on their local community in whatever positive way they can. There are Discovery Point owners who make farm-to-table sustainability a priority at their center, growing fruits and vegetables on-site. Other owners place a distinct focus on serving special needs children in their community. And there are Discovery Point owners who have made foster care their main cause, providing an opportunity for foster children in their community to get the care they need in what can be a challenging, on-demand enrollment process. Each Discovery Point owner shines in their own way within their community and with their own charitable efforts.

At the corporate level, Discovery Point contributes to a variety of charitable causes, including back-to-school supply drives, Toys for Tots[2], Angel Tree[3], foster care support, women’s shelters, and local food banks.

Diane’s Devotion[edit]

Discovery Point founder Diane Clark passed away in October 2012, but her legacy lives on. Her lifelong passion was children’s education, with years of her personal and professional life devoted to public education. In light of her contribution to communities throughout the South, “Diane’s Devotion” was founded — it's a charitable initiative created to help underprivileged children.

Gwinnett Medical Sports Medicine and Concussion Care-a-Van[edit]

Discovery Point partnered with Gwinnet Medical Center[4] to bring about the Sports Medicine and Concussion Care-a-Van[5]. Originally a mobile mammography center, the RV-sized vehicle has been redesigned and re-purposed to meet a new healthcare need in Gwinnett County – concussion education, diagnosis and treatment. The Care-A-Van travels out to sports leagues, parks and recreation centers, athletic events, community fairs and expos, schools, daycare centers, summer camps, senior centers, churches, non-profit organizations, medical practices, corporate campuses and more. As primary sponsor of the project, Discovery Point's contribution helped to expedite the completion of the renovation – 9 months from start to finish.
