The district heating system of Khovd City in Khovd Province, Mongolia provides the heating to the city of Khovd, especially during winter months of the country.

Background

The existing district heating demand for Khovd City is 85.5 GWh per year with a peak heat demand of 22 MWt. During the off heating season, the heating demand of the city is around 4 MWt throughout the period.[1]

Infrastructure

The heat source is provided by one boiler house with a capacity of 25 MWt. It was constructed with a cost of MNT 15.8 billion.[2] The thermal line mostly covers loads along the Khovd-Duut Road in the city center.[1]
