Dmytro Oleinykov (Ukrainian: Дмитро Олейников; born August 8, 1979, Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine), known professionally as Dmitry Oleyn, is a Ukrainian-born marine artist based in Germany. He is known for expressive seascapes that combine Impressionist light with contemporary emotional realism.[1][citation needed]
Biography
Dmitry Oleyn was born on August 8, 1979, in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. His father, Oleg Ihorovych, was a musician, and his mother, Iryna Anatoliivna, a master watchmaker.[2][citation needed]
He studied at the Dnipropetrovsk Art College (1995–2000), where he held his first exhibitions. He continued his education at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAOMA) in Kyiv, majoring in painting under Professor Mikhail Guida, graduating in 2008. In 2011, he received a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.[2]
Since 2017, Oleyn has been living and working in Germany, where he developed his distinctive style of marine painting.[3][citation needed]
Artistic style
Oleyn’s works are mainly seascapes inspired by the harmony and energy of water. His self-developed technique combines palette-knife texture with angled canvas placement, creating relief surfaces and light refraction.[4]
My paintings are unique because each creator puts a part of their own emotions into them. My goal is to bring warmth, calmness, and sincerity to people through art.

One of his notable recent works, Fog of the Past (2024), was featured in Artmajeur Magazine as an example of post-impressionist influence in contemporary marine painting.[4]
