Dmitry Turcan
Dmitry Turcan is a Russian-speaking floral designer and the founder of Turcan International Floral School. Turcan was the official florist of the European Games 2015 in Baku, Azerbaijan.[1] He was the first person who represented Azerbaijan at Europa Cup 2016 in Genova, Italy.
Dmitry Turcan learned floristry from Stepan Kara, Peter Hess, and Gregor Lersch.
Life and career
Dmitry Turcan was born in Kishinev, Moldova on 14 April 1983. As a young boy, he helped his parents with their small floral business.
In 1999, Turcan met his first teacher Stepan Karа and worked as his assistant for two years, learning the main basics and techniques of floristry. Then he moved to Milan, where he was working for 8 years. In 2012, Dmitry received an offer to become an art director at Lilac in Baku, Azerbaijan, and accepted it.[2]
Nowadays, he is working in St. Petersburg on his own projects and teaches floristics over the world.

- Lady Gaga’s grand piano at the Opening ceremony of the first European Games, which was decorated by 2000 fresh flowers[3];
- Floral decorations at the Opening Ceremony of Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre;
- Floral decorations at the International Music Festival ‘Zhara’ 2017
Awards and achievements
- Silver medal winner of Japan Garden Festival 2017;
- People's Choice Award of Florint Europa Cup 2016 in Genova, Italy[4];
- Grand Prix and Gold medal winner at Singapore Garden Festival 2018[5]
