"Do the Carmine" is the 20th episode of the eighth season of the 1970s television sitcom Laverne & Shirley, making it the 176th episode of the series overall. It aired on March 15, 1983.
Plot
Carmine writes and records a dance song called "Do the Hotfoot". A TV star, "Bobby Bitts", likes what he hears, but advises Carmine to change the title to the self-promoting "Do the Carmine". After the change, he performs the song on the star's show. The show is seen and the record heard by self-proclaimed censor "Dr. Knibble". He basically accuses Carmine of indecency by what he "thinks" he hears when the recording is played backwards. Is Carmine's career over before it’s begun?
