Ezeaku Chukwuemeka Collins (born 17 December 2006), professionally known as Doctor Fresh, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is recognized for his melodic trap style and vocal versatility across various musical genres. He began his professional music career at the age of 13 in 2020.
Early Life
Ezeaku Chukwuemeka Collins was born in Enugu, Nigeria. He hails from Ohebe-Dim in the Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State. Following the passing of his father, Ezeaku Christopher, in 2011, he was raised by his mother, Ezeaku Kate, an accountant and graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He grew up in a Christian household alongside his younger sister, Ezeaku Ifeoma.
Career
Doctor Fresh developed an interest in music during his teenage years, citing influences such as Juice WRLD, Post Malone, Pop Smoke, and Rema. He attended private schools for his junior secondary education and completed his senior secondary education at Day Secondary School in Enugu. During his time in school, he began composing original songs and performing freestyle rap for his peers.
In 2019, Collins was a member of the comedy group Iyoo Comedy, where he served as a director, producer, and editor for their skits. In 2020, he shifted his focus entirely to music. As an independent artist, he taught himself music production via YouTube and began distributing his music digitally.
His debut EP, Done & Dusted, was released in 2022. This was followed by a consistent release schedule, including the 2024 album INDUSTRY DEMON and the 2025 Album "I AM DOCTOR FRESH," which showcased his evolution into melodic trap and experimental rap.
