Dollie Louise Grissam (February 24, 1941 – August 10, 2016)[1] was an American woman from Oklahoma who is claimed, by the nursing home in which she lived, to be the oldest person in the world to have lived with Down syndrome. People who are diagnosed with the condition typically have a life expectancy of up to 60 years.[2]
Personal life
Grissam was the second oldest of nine children and lived in Rush Springs, Oklahoma with her family until July 1969,[3] when she was put into a nursing care center in Chickasha, due to her parents falling severely ill. She remained at the care unit until her death in August 2016.
