Domanic Akuei is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Akuei is of Sudanese descent and is looking to make a big impact on the AFL. He was selected in Category B rookie selection from the Northern Knights in 2021.
AFL career
2022 season
Akuei was picked up by Carlton through the club's academy in the rookie selections in the 2021 AFL draft. He was looking promising in the VFL with multiple 10+ disposal games and tried out a new position in the ruck for the last few games of the season due to injuries in the senior team. Akuei did not debut in 2022 with the Blues; however, he will look to play alongside fellow key defender Jacob Weitering and be selected sometime next year in the 2023 season.
