Domenic Stansberry, born in 1952 in Washington, is an American journalist and crime fiction writer.[1][2][3]
Biography[edit]
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, he worked as an itinerant journalist for United Press International, covering sports and politics. During this time, he published his first novel, The Spoiler, which was nominated for the Edgar Award for best first novel. [4]After working in New Orleans and Spokane, he moved to California in 1989 and began working in the multimedia and video games industry, including writing the game In the 1st Degree, and its novelisation.
He returned to writing in 1998 with the novel The Last Days of Il Duce. His following novel, Manifesto for the Dead, dealt with the last days of the American crime writer Jim Thompson. The Confession won the Edgar Award for the best pocket publication in 2005. These three novels were translated into French for the Série noire for the first two, and in the French collection of Hard Case Crime for the last.
At the end of 2004, he began a series of books about Dante Mancuso, an investigator with a troubled past, nicknamed the Pelican due to his long nose. Only the first book has been translated to French.
