Donovan Gary, professionally known as Don Ready, is an American Christian hip-hop artist. He was formerly signed with Christian hip-hop label Nkosi Records in 2017. Don Ready has released two studio albums, one extended play, and one single in his musical debut in 2016.
Career[edit]
Musical beginnings, Nkosi Records, and Chosen (2016-17)[edit]
Don Ready began releasing music in late 2016 with the single "We On". He received from Evansville Christian hip-hop label Nkosi Records signed with them. Don Ready began advertising for his debut studion album, Chosen, in late 2016 and early January 2017, Chosen was released on January 23 under Nkosi. He began touring with Yung Kriss, Anno Domini, and the Owensboro hip-hop duo Parellel. In late 2017, Don Ready performed at the Nkosi Reunion Concert shortly before the label shut down.
Stay Ready, Don Ready, the Be Together Tour, Lion of Judah (2018-present)[edit]
On March 30, 2018, Don Ready released the studio album Stay Ready independently. In August 2018, he announced he would feature on the Be Together Tour with Yung Kriss, Heather, and producer and DJ Nathan Simms. On August 31, 2018, he released the self-titled extended play Don Ready. The Be Together Tour extended through September 2018 and included numerous locations throughout the IIK tri-state area. On June 3, 2019, Don Ready previewed the release of his second extended play Lion of Judah. The EP was released on June 29, 2019.
