History

Donald Pliner was founded in 1989 by Donald J Pliner, a renowned designer and "who's who, in fashion". Pliner remained with the company until selling the brand in 2011 to the private equity firm Castanea. He stepped down as head of design in 2015. In 2017, Donald Pliner appointed Silvano Banfi as the brand’s new creative director.
