Donya Dadrasan (Persian: دنیا دادرسن; born March 24, 1998) is an Iranian singer who was born in Tehran, Iran.[1]
Early life
Donya was born in Tehran, Iran. At the age of 15, she moved with her family to Melbourne, Australia.[2]
Music career
Early works
At a very early age, Donya made an appearance in the music video "Jigar Tala" for her uncle, Hossein Mokhte, who is a singer.[3]
Before starting her music career, Donya started to perform cover songs on her Instagram page. In interviews, she has mentioned that because she lives in Australia and away from others in the music industry, it was the only way for her to reach listeners.[4][5][6]
Donya's debut song "Midooni Dooset Daram" was released in July 2017.[7]
2018: New singles and Donya album
In February 2018, Donya signed with Radio Javan as her record label and released her follow up single "Baroon Ke Mibareh". This song was released with a music video, which was Donya's first video.[8]
In August 2018, Donya released her first breakthrough music video "Badi Baram".[9]
In December 2018, it was announced that Donya will be releasing her debut album titled "Donya".[10] The song "Koo Ta Biad" became the most played song of the album on Radio Javan.[11]. The album also included the singles "Nemidoonam Nemidoonam" and "Hasooda".[12]
In May 2019, Donya released the music video for "Koo Ta Biad", which was filmed and produced in Sydney, Australia.[13]
Musical style
Donya's music style is Persian pop. In her interviews, Donya mentioned her dream is to make others happy and she loves to sing happy and energetic songs.[14]
