Sarah Oboh known professionally as Dope Caesar is a Nigerian disc jockey.[1]

Background

Born in Lagos, Dope Caesar hails from Edo State. Her father John Oboh known professionally as Mighty Mouse was a music producer, songwriter, sound engineer and DJ. He wrote and produced music for popular Nigerian artists such as Daddy Showkey, Oritsefemi and Baba Fryo. Dope Caesar is an alumna of Covenant University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science.[2]

Career

Dope Caesar became interested in music in her teenage years and learned chord progressions on songs from online videos and practiced with her father’s entry-level controller. After some mastery, she started making videos of herself mixing songs and uploading them on her social media handles, attracting an audience and getting gigs that brought her in contact with notable musical artists and DJs.[3]

She came to limelight in 2023 after uploading a video clip of her unique mixing of Lace’s track Love is Wicked and Victony and Tempoe’s Soweto across her social media handles. The video earned her over 170 thousand followers including Nyanda Thourborne and received over two million views within two weeks on TikTok.[4][5]
