Company history[edit]

Dorabot was founded by Hao Zhang, Dandan Zhou, and Spencer Deng in 2014 and began commercial operations in 2015. The company received angel investment from Sinovation Ventures, a venture capital firm run by former Google China president Kai-Fu Lee.

In 2018, the company closed A+ round funding led by Jack Ma and Alibaba’s Yunfeng Capital.[2] Dorabot also established branches in Brisbane and Atlanta and expanded their leadership team to include Gary Bradski, founder of Industrial Perception and OpenCV, Alan Gershenhorn, former CCO of UPS, and Peter Corke, founder of the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision.[3][4] The China Money Network included Dorabot in their China AI Top 50 ranking, announced at a World Economic Forum event in Tianjin.[5]
