Dorothee Nolte (born February 6, 1963 in Bonn) is a German journalist and author.

Biography[edit]

Dorothee Nolte is the daughter of noted historian Ernst Nolte and attended schools in various locations both within Germany and abroad. After taking her school-exit exams in Berlin-Steglitz in 1981, she began to study Romance and German philology at the University of Freiburg, and continued her studies in Paris, Berlin, and Stanford. In 1988, she received her Master's degree at the Free University of Berlin and in 1992, she completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the same institution on the topic of Spanish literature during the Transición..[1]

Beginning in 1985, Dorothee Nolte worked as an independent journalist for various periodicals as well as in radio broadcasting; in 1992, she became part of the editorial staff of Berlin's Tagesspiegel, where she contributed reports for the department of research and development. In 2000, she began to hold seminars on topics of journalism and creative writing[2]. Dorothee Nolte is the mother of two children and lives in Berlin[3]

In addition to her journalistic work, Dorothee Nolte published a novel and two nonfiction books[4] about her experiences in her role as a mother[5]. She moderated numerous panel discussions; as a skilled vocalist and narrator, she participated in the production of audiobooks and occasionally performed interpretations of arias and chansons.
