Professional Career[edit]
Dorothy Nalubega has been actively involved in various initiatives and organizations, working towards the promotion of human rights, particularly in relation to women, children, and vulnerable groups. She has dedicated her efforts to raising awareness about environmental issues and promoting sustainable practices in Uganda and East Africa.
As a climate change campaigner, Dorothy has been invited to speak at numerous international conferences and events. She has served as a panelist on several climate change side events, including the SB51 conference in Bonn in June 2019, where she represented the Green Economics Institute as a delegate. Dorothy also coordinated Global Greens activities during the Conference of the Parties (COP24) in Katowice in 2018 and participated as a Global Greens delegate at COP23 in Bonn in 2017.
In 2018, Dorothy was invited to speak on climate change and gender issues alongside German Green Members of Parliament in the German Parliament. She has also participated as a panelist at the Violence Against Women Conference in London in the same year. Additionally, she has shared her expertise in virtual conferences organized by the Green Economics Institute and other institutions.
In the same year, she worked with Wakiso District Local Government in Uganda as the Personal Secretary to the Wakiso District Chairperson-the Political Head of the District. Besides, I am an Environmental Activist and I work with Rangelands and Cattle Corridor conservation Network as the Environment and sustainability team leader (www.rangelands.org).I live and work in the Central region of Uganda; in Wakiso and Kampala District.
I am an active environmental activist because; (a) I love nature (b) I know the dangers of environmental degradation/climate change effects and how they impact on people (c) I am a Green Politician and one of our Green Ideologies involves environmental protection.[2]
Dorothy Nalubega has managed and coordinated various projects aimed at addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development. One notable project she led was the briquettes-making exercise, which aimed to provide an alternative energy source to charcoal in Uganda. She has also worked on the East African Greens gender and energy project.[3]
As a writer, Dorothy has contributed articles on climate change and gender to magazines and newsletters such as the International Women's Alliance. Her articles have been published in notable publications, including the German newspaper Taz.de.

Dorothy Nalubega is the Founding Chairperson of the East African Women Greens and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Kkona Women Sustainable Agriculturalists and Environmental Group. She is actively involved with the Wakiso District Local Government in Uganda, collaborating on environmental initiatives.
Dorothy is recognized for her diverse knowledge and experience on gender issues and climate justice. She has been an effective campaigner, contributing her expertise to the Green Economics Institute charity. She ensures that the organization's campaigns, particularly those focused on environmental protection and gender justice, are widely disseminated through social and other media platforms.
