Doug Wayne Williamson is a Canadian actor and entrepreneur.[1][2]

Life and career[edit]

Williamson was born in Kitchener, Ontario. He graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor's degree in 1992.[2]

During his acting career he appeared in a number of films and TV shows. He’s known for his roles in the films The Fly 2 and Cool Runnings. Additionally, Williamson starred in television shows including Danger Bay, Wiseguy, Booker, The Beachcombers, 21 Jump Street, Neon Rider and The X Files.[2]

After retiring from acting in 1993, Williamson who was 24 at the time, co-founded Esquires Coffee, a global coffee store chain.[3][4][5] Initially the brand started with one small coffee shop in Delta, British Columbia.[6][7] In 1999, the company had 34 stores across Canada.[2] In 2000, Esquires Coffee expanded into the UK.[8] Currently, the retail coffee store chain has over 100 stores across the world. Williamson left the company in 2019.[3]
