Dover, London is a British progressive rock band formed in East London in 2026. The band's music combines elements of indie rock, progressive rock and alternative rock, with the band describing its sound as "twee prog".[1] The six-piece consists of Lucas Kellar, Dori Konya, Fynn Gill, Harry Haley, Rory Johnston and Sarina Rad.[1]
The band has performed on the London grassroots music circuit, including appearances at Dingwalls and The Half Moon.[2][3]
History
Formation and background
Prior to the formation of Dover, London, vocalist and guitarist Lucas Kellar and bassist and vocalist Dori Konya performed together in Poledo, an East London post-hardcore project named after a Dinosaur Jr. track.[1] Dover, London subsequently developed as a separate project, incorporating elements of progressive rock and more melodic songwriting.
The band's lineup expanded with Fynn Gill moving to drums and Harry Haley joining on guitar. Rory Johnston subsequently joined on saxophone and Sarina Rad on violin, establishing the band's current six-piece lineup.[1]
The band uses the name "Dover, London" to distinguish itself from the Spanish rock band Dover.
London grassroots circuit (2026–present)
In early 2026, Dover, London began performing on the London grassroots music circuit. The band's early live repertoire included original songs such as "They Will Grow", "Cytokines", "The Curb" and "Mitch".[4]
On 24 May 2026, Dover, London performed at a Ranga Records youth gig at The Half Moon in Putney alongside independent acts Idiocy and Gravel Mouth.[2]
On 18 June 2026, the band performed at the Cart & Horses in Maryland, Stratford, alongside the Furnival Brothers Band and Barrow.[3]
Musical style and influences
Dover, London's music combines indie rock and progressive rock with melodic and unconventional arrangements.
