Downtown Seattle Association

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Downtown Seattle Association (DSA) is a non-profit membership organization providing public policy advocacy[1], outreach[2] and concierge[3] services in downtown Seattle. Founded in 1958 with a focus on business and transportation, DSA expanded its services and mission over the next 60 years to support the overall economic and community health of Seattle's urban core.[4]

DSA manages and staffs Westlake Park, McGraw Square and Occidental Square in downtown[5], overseeing and arranging events, games, and food services and seating[6]. During the holidays, DSA installs seasonal rides and produces events in Westlake Park and Occidental Square.[7] Each summer, DSA produces the Downtown Summer Sounds music series, bringing between 30 and 40 lunchtime and afternoon musical acts to venues across downtown.[8]

In 1999, DSA founded the Metropolitan Improvement District (MID) to provide cleaning, safety, concierge and homeless outreach services across 285 blocks of downtown.[9][10][11]
