Dr.Roshan Koul
Roshan Koul is an Indian pediatric neurologist with thirty-eight years of experience in pediatric neurology. He established pediatric neurology services in the Sultanate of Oman while working as a senior consultant at Sultan Qaboos University.
Biography: Roshan Koul graduated from Govt Medical College Patiala, Punjab in 1975, obtained an MD in pediatrics in 1979, and a DM in neurology from PGI Chandigarh in 1985. He received FRCPCh from the Royal College UK in 2003. He initially worked in the Ministry of Health J and K from 1979-82. He worked at the Institute of Medical Sciences Srinagar from 1982 onwards. He also worked at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman and established pediatric neurology services in that country. He has been a guide for MD and PhD students. Currently he is working at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Delhi.
Career: During his work at Sultan Qaboos University, his pioneering work was on various neurological disorders in children. Some of them are continuous midazolam infusion in status epilepticus in children [1], autosomal rippling muscle disease [2], Guillain Barre syndrome [3], genetic work in hereditary spastic paraplegia [4] and heat entrapment stroke in a car. [5] His most recent work describes ictal blinking in hepatic encephalopathy. [6] He also published a book, Childhood neurological disorders in Oman.[7]
