Ashutosh Singh (born August 27, 1994) is an Indian engineer, social activist, and academic known for his contributions to advanced manufacturing and advocacy for social causes. He has been vocal about issues concerning Bihar and has taken stands against societal injustices, even at personal and professional costs.

Early Life and Education:

Born into a humble family in Hajipur, Bihar, Ashutosh's upbringing was influenced by his father, Dr. Arvind Singh, a retired police inspector, and his mother, Pratima Singh. He hails from a family with a strong educational background, including his grandfather, Late Ramnath Singh, a retired high school principal.Ashutosh attended Surajdeo Memorial School and later pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical from MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology[1], Bangalore, where he garnered numerous awards and accolades for academic excellence.

Career:

After completing his bachelor's degree, Ashutosh worked at Britannia Industries before pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical at Politecnico di Milano[2],Italy. He was honored with the prestigious Invest Your Talent in Italy award for his master's program.Following his master's, Ashutosh joined Prima Additive, Italy, as a Product Manager, where he gained valuable industry experience. He later secured a Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellowship as a Scientist at CNRS, France[3][4], and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from Georgia Tech and the University of Lorraine, specializing in advanced manufacturing.

Social Activism:

Ashutosh's commitment to social causes became evident early on when he approached the District Magistrate in 2013, seeking action against the open selling of tobacco products near schools, which violated Supreme Court guidelines.In 2018, Ashutosh encountered issues at the District Transport Office related to licensing. He took proactive steps by writing to various departments and personally visiting the District Magistrate's office. His efforts led to officials visiting the DTO office and taking corrective action.He has also tried to give guest lectures to colleges like R.N College to educate students about opportunities but faced obstacles from authorities. Saddened by the state of policy-making and the lack of expected growth in Hajipur and Bihar, he decided to embody the concept of "be the change you wish to see" advocated by Mahatma Gandhi and was inspired by Subhash Chandra Bose to work for his society.

Personal Life:In 2021, Ashutosh married Aditi Singh.

Future Plans:

Inspired by his commitment to societal change, Ashutosh plans to contest the next Vidhan Sabha election in Bihar from his Hajipur constituency, leaving his well-settled life to serve his people.
