Dr. Christian Conte
Dr. Christian Conte is an American professional counselor, author, speaker, and television personality. He is best known for developing Yield Theory, a psychological framework for emotional regulation and conflict resolution, and for his role as a co-host on the reality television series Coaching Bad on Spike TV.
Education and Career
Conte holds a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision.[1] His work spans a variety of high-conflict environments, including maximum-security prisons, juvenile detention centers, and schools. He is a recognized expert in anger management and emotional intelligence.
Conte developed Yield Theory in the early 2000s as a response to what he saw as a lack of truly empathic approaches in behavior modification and counseling.[2]
In addition to clinical work, Conte is a frequent keynote speaker at conferences and training events related to mental health, criminal justice, and education.
Television Work
In 2015, Conte co-hosted the reality television series Coaching Bad on Spike TV alongside former NFL player Ray Lewis.[3] The show featured a group of youth sports coaches with anger management issues undergoing intense behavioral and emotional coaching. Conte served as the psychological expert, introducing participants to Yield Theory and other emotional regulation techniques.
