Dr. Nawa Raj Subba is a Nepalese writer known for his contributions as a public health specialist, researcher, and author. His works encompass articles and books exploring the intersection of public health and culture. Additionally, he engages in diverse forms of creative expression, including poetry, song lyrics, essays, and authoring both books and albums. [1] [2] [3] [4][5]

Biography[edit]

Born in 1961 in the village of Athrai Hangpang in the secluded mountain region of Taplejung, Nepal, Nawa Raj Subba embarked on his life journey. In 1983, he entered the bond of matrimony, and the union bore two sons. His academic pursuits led him to attain a PhD in Health Psychology, a Master's in Public Health (MPH), and a degree in Nepali literature and culture (MA) from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Serving diligently for over three decades, he dedicated his professional career to the Ministry of Health, notably in District Public Health Offices such as Morang and Jhapa, concluding his service with retirement in 2014. Nepali Songs Music Audio Albums

Music composer and researcher, Bulu Mukarung of Radio Nepal recorded Nawa Raj Subba's songs for his book Nepali Music Archives 'Nepali Sangeetko Abhilekh.[15] When ethnic tensions arose in Nepal during the constitution-making process, Nawa Raj Subba's song "Nepali Nepali Hami Nepali" became well-known in various media and programs. Dr Vijay Subba included Nawa Raj Subba's song in the wave of songs promoting inclusive democracy and ethnic harmony in his book Cultural Workers of Social Change, published by Nepal Academy.[16] Nawa Raj Subba's Ghazal lyrics are also popular with music composer Shakti Ballav and various singers such as Anju Pant, Jagadish Samal, Narendra Pyasi, Shishir Yogi, Sumit Khadka, Mandavi Tripathi, and others.[17]
