Muneeb (born 1973) is an oncologist and philanthropist[1]. Apart from his regular practice, his work as a philanthropist is to spread awareness regarding cancer, its causes, and how to avoid it.
Early life and career
Muneeb was born in Pakistan in 1973. When he was 15, he lost a loved one and since then, he teamed up with a friend who had a loved one suffering from cancer (the friend and colleague prefers to remain anonymous at present). The dedicated duo kept it alive, against all odds, and their mutual love and passion for a cancer-free world led to KCK, a global mission in the war against cancer. KCK focuses on cancer prevention, early detection, and effective treatment, with the goal of eventually curing cancer. Khan is actively involved in the KCK project.
After completing his basic education plus MBBS, he went to England where he did M.R.C.P (London), F.R.C.R (London) and MSc Clinical Oncology (Birmingham University).
He currently serves as a Consultant Oncologist at Queen's Centre, Castle Hill Hospital, UK, where he has 25 years of experience in General Medicine and Oncology.
Research Work
Khan is very active in the Oncology community and has conducted extensive research on the underlying reasons for cancer, how the body reacts to it, and what the cure is. Khan's research and findings are detailed in an upcoming book[2] that provides a holistic approach to beating cancer that looks at every aspect of our lifestyle and provides advice on how to live longer, healthier, and happier lives.
Khan also has research papers acknowledged globally and a couple of them are "Mesenteric desmoid tumor developing on the site of an excised gastrointestinal stromal tumor[3]" and "Effect of maternal anemia on fetal parameters.[4]"
KCK aims to make sense of a vast amount of information about cancer prevention and cures, distilling it down to a level of knowledge and understanding that is of practical use to the non-academic audience.
Khan's book covers various key areas, including understanding what cancer actually is, how our body fights and kills cancer cells every day, delaying the onset of cancer, environmental factors, mitigating the toxic effects of alcohol and smoking, cancer and sex, myth-busting, the role of sugar, and the surprising benefits of consuming some foods and drinks.
Digital Media Presence
Khan has a keen presence on social media and is present on almost all major platforms including Facebook and Instagram[5]. Khan has been interviewed by BBC[6] after he got the spotlight for spreading cancer awareness. He also has a YouTube channel named "Killing cancer Kindly with Dr. Khan,” where he educates his audience in detail on cancer, its origin, diagnosis, prevention, and cure[7]. He also has different playlists on YouTube and IMDb where he briefs how to take good care of health and various physical and mental diseases, their diagnosis, prevention, and cure. He has lectures available in different languages, including English, Urdu, Russian, Hindi, Maltese, and Greek. Khan also has a podcast[8] with the famous Pakistani podcast show TBT (Thought behind things), hosted by Muzammil Hussain Zaidi, in which he clears the smoke from various misconceptions about cancer, diagnosis, and his journey towards becoming an oncologist. It is available on Apple podcasts. Khan also has a deep interest in religion and sometimes shares Tafseer E Quran in his YouTube videos.
