Dr Liebenstein is a 2014 horror film that was directed by Erik Karl and is his feature-film directorial debut. The film had its world premiere on April 25, 2014, at the Motor City Nightmares Film Festival in Novi, Michigan. The movie is about a menacing vampire who is summoned from the darkness and begins terrorizing couples in Chicago. A doctor with a haunted past is determined to confront and destroy the vampire.[1]
Synopsis
A young journalist (Jessica Henwick) interviews a couple of horror novelists (Erik Karl, Christina Collard) about their recently successful book titled Dr Liebenstein. When a menacing vampire with supernatural powers is mistakenly summoned during the season of Halloween, a group of two couples must deal with the consequences of their seemingly innocent actions.

Release
After a film festival run, the movie was released on DVD and on VHX in 2015.[2] A new version of the film premiered at the Spook Screen Film Festival in Clonakilty, Ireland, at The Park Cinema on September 6, 2018.[3] Dr Liebenstein Special Edition was released on Blu-ray in 2020. The new film version included new scenes with Mia Doran, Jessica Henwick, and Christina Collard. There were also new special effects and a new soundtrack with music sung by Spiral Trance and Njomza.[4]
