Dr Marilyn Bromberg

Dr Marilyn Bromberg is a senior lecturer and the Director of Professionalism at The University of Western Australia Law School. <ref> http://www.web.uwa.edu.au/person/marilyn.bromberg <ref>. She commenced work as a freelance journalist for Canada's largest newspaper, The Toronto Star, at age 14. Six years later she created her own online magazine, On the Wall, which she managed for three years and which employed three people part-time and had numerous volunteers. Marilyn graduated with a BBA (Honours) from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

In 2006 moved to Perth, Australia and completed an LLB (Dist) from The University of Western Australia. She also completed a PhD from Murdoch University <ref>http://researchrepository.murdoch.edu.au/id/eprint/23839/ <ref>. Her PhD thesis, An Examination of Social Media’s Impact on the Courts in Australia, was the first in Australia to consider how social media impacts upon the law. She has continued to research in this area and is frequently sought after to speak on this topic. She has spoken about this area of law at Harvard University, The Supreme Court of Canada, The Federal Court of Australia, The Supreme Court of Western Australia, The Family Court of Western Australia and numerous other venues. Dr Bromberg also has a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching from The University of Notre Dame Australia (Fremantle Campus). She completed a semester on exchange at the London School of Economics at the University of London and received a full bursary from the Canadian Federal Government to study in a French immersion course at the Cegep de Trois-Rivieres as part of the Summer Language Bursary Program. Dr Bromberg’s other primary research areas are e-cigarettes and the law and energy drinks and the law. She has written for several newspapers.
