Dr Sandeep Gupte, Born on 4th Oct 1961, is an Indian Poet of Urdu.[1]

Biography[edit]

Dr Sandip Gupte was born in Palghar, Thane, Maharashtra India. He is an alumnus of The Institution of Engineers (India), Tilak Maharashtra Vidypeeth Pune, Indira Gandhi National Open University Delhi and Savitribai Phule Pune University. He is married to Dr. Archana Gupte and has a daughter, Prof. Pooja Gupte. He lived in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh during student age. At the age of 27, he permanently relocated to Mumbai, Maharashtra, since 1988 and presently working as Executive Engineer at Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.[2][3][4]

Dr Gupte has written over 400 urdu ghazals so far and is an author of four books and three Audio Albums of his urdu ghazals.[5]

Dr Gupte also performs in shows of informative musical ghazal mehfil and so far Performed in 11 shows named 'Zara Si Pyaas' (Singers : Ranjana Joglekar & Vinayak Joshi). Dr Gupte also recites Ghazals from All India Radio, Mumbai. Dr Gupte participates in Mushayaras of all levels, including All India Mushayaras.

  1. ‘Meer-Taqi-Meer’ award-2003 of ‘Gosha-e-Khayaal’, Govandi, Mumbai for the book ‘Zindagi ki Zaban’.
  2. ‘Paasbaan-e-Urdu’ Award -2011 of ‘Bazm-e-Dara ul suroor’, Bhiwandi for remarkable contribution in Urdu Literature.
  3. ‘Urdu SAHITYA ACADEMY Award’ of Govt. Of Maharashtra -2011 for the book ‘Deewan-e-Sandeep’.
