Draft Debra M. Childs
Debra Childs is founding director of the 501(c)(3) non-profit[1], Time to Put Kids First[2][3], and international vocal advocate for children and families. She is the former New Hampshire House Deputy Chief of Staff[4], where she served from December of 2020 under Speaker of the House Dick Hinch[5] to January of 2026, where she served under House Speaker Sherm Packard[6].
In 2024, Debra was nominated for and received[7] the National Conference of State Legislators[8] Staff Achievement Award in recognition from the Legislative Staff Professional Association, for her outstanding contributions and excellence in service to the New Hampshire Legislature and to the staff association[7]. Also in 2024, Debra was part of the Council for State Governments[9] Robert J. Thompson Eastern Leadership Academy[10], having been nominated by Republican Speaker Sherm Packard[6], and she was selected as a 2025[11][12] Henry W. Toll Fellows[13] Recipient, nominated by former Democratic Speaker Steve Shurtleff[14].
Debra has created training materials[15], produced dozens of videos[16][17][18], written articles[19], news in local papers[20], and participated on local television[21][22] and radio programs to spread awareness around issues related to separation and divorce[23], coparenting[24] and parental alienation[25].
Debra is campaign manager for Speaker Pro Tempore Jim Kofalt's[26] 2027-2028 New Hampshire House Speaker Race[27][28].
