Dragos Calma is a Romanian philosopher and Associate Professor of Medieval Philosophy at University College Dublin (UCD). He is specialized in the history of medieval philosophy, with interests in history of metaphysics, Neoplatonism, Latin Averroism, and 15th-c. Albertism.

Education

He graduated from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca (2001) before pursuing advanced studies in France. He attended the École normale supérieure as an international student (2001–2003) and earned his PhD from the Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV) in 2008. His doctoral research, under the supervision of Ruedi Imbach, focused on the presence of Averroes in the work of Dietrich of Freiberg.

Career

In 2018, Dragos Calma was appointed at the UCD School of Philosophy. Throughout his career, he has held several research and teaching positions across Europe:
