He released a steady series of albums, which helped him build his popularity over the past few months since his career start.[1][2] Following his rise in popularity, Nettspend would upload the track snippet, to which it quickly received online attention on Twitter, allowing Nettspend's reach to grow to a further audience.[3][4][5][6]

Nettspend co-wrote the song with Zoot, who handled the track production.[7] Taye Rowland-Dixon of Verge Magazine wrote how "Drankdrankdrank" "pairs distorted 808s with a minimalist, and hypnotic rhythm." Due to this, it helps create space for "Nettspend’s voice dominates the track."
