The Draugen platform is a Condeep gravity-based structure offshore oil and natural gas platform on the Draugen field off the west coast of Norway. Built from reinforced concrete. The field was discovered in 1984 and production started in 1993.[1] The operator was Norske Shell until 2018 when OKEA AS acquired Norske Shell's assets in Draugen and Gjøa, taking over the operatorship of Draugen. The Draugen oil platform is being evaluated as a first-use of a Norwegian floating power plant.
Construction[edit]
The platform is a Condeep platform with one concrete leg (mono-tower) standing at 251 meters sea level. The total height of the structure from the bottom edge of the GBS skirts to the derrick tip is 370 metres.[3]
