Drishti Beats is an American yoga-inspired electronic music collective and Yoga Alliance–registered yoga school based in Aspen, Colorado. Founded in 2014 by yoga educators Lori and Jeremy Lowell, the project blends live downtempo electronic sets with guided yoga sessions and teacher-training programs.
History
Drishti Beats originated after Lori and Jeremy Lowell attended the Wanderlust Festival in Snowmass, Colorado, in July 2014, where they were inspired by the combination of yoga and live music.[1]
That same period the group released early material including the single "Journey"; a subsequent remix by French producer CloZee was issued later in 2015.[2][3] The act has been associated with Austin-based label Gravitas Recordings.[4]
Since its formation, the group has performed at yoga and music festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, Mysteryland, Lightning in a Bottle, Okeechobee Music Festival, and Sonic Bloom. A 2019 review noted yoga-fronted programming at Mysteryland.[5]
Yoga school
In 2015 Drishti Beats established a yoga-teacher-training school in Northern Virginia. In 2018 Asaf B. Goldfrid joined as Co-founder and Director of Online Education, helping to develop an online yoga-teacher-training program that launched in October 2019.[6][7]
In July 2023, Yoga Alliance announced that Registered Yoga Schools could permanently offer training programs via multiple formats, including 100% distance learning, formalizing pandemic-era allowances for online instruction.[8]
Festival
In July 2022 the team organized the first Drishti Beats Yoga & Music Festival in Snowmass Base Village, Colorado, featuring three days of yoga, live music, and wellness programming.[9] The event returned in 2023 with support from Snowmass Tourism and regional media coverage.[10][11][12]
